Operations on the hymen (defloration)

Surgical defloration is a non-invasive gynecological procedure in which the doctor creates an opening in the hymen. A small medical intervention at the Universum clinic gives girls the opportunity to start a full-fledged sexual life without pain and complications, and sometimes - preserves women's health.

Indication

Under natural conditions, the hymen breaks during the first full sexual act. This moment is usually unpleasant: there is pain, albeit short-lived, bleeding. Because of this, some girls feel fear and insecurity before starting an intimate relationship, depriving themselves and their partner of the joys of sex. Medical defloration of the hymen (hymenotomy), painless and carried out in aseptic conditions, eliminates such fear. Also, the procedure is useful, and even necessary, in the following situations:

• the hymen is too thick, dense, creates an insurmountable barrier to penetration;

• fragmented hymen - at the entrance to the vagina, there is not a continuous membrane, but strips of tissue that do not break down, but move apart during sexual intercourse, causing pain during friction;

• the hymen is entire, without small holes, due to which the outflow of menstrual blood is disturbed.

In the last case, medical hymenotomy is mandatory, since the pathology is manifested by amenorrhea and can lead to gross damage to the female reproductive organs. In order to avoid such risk, we recommend that you have a preventive consultation with a pediatric gynecologist, and definitely - when the girl is 11-12 years old.

Preparation for the procedure

Surgical defloration is considered as an intervention, albeit a small one. Medical defloration takes place in exclusively aseptic conditions, using disposable instruments. General anesthesia, as a rule, is not required, preparation for the procedure is minimal:

• medical examination of the patient;

• gynecological examination to determine indications for medical defloration;

• blood tests;

• evaluation of the blood coagulation system.

If, at the request of the patient or according to medical indications, general anesthesia or sedation is planned, then in the morning before the defloration operation, the patient should refrain from eating and drinking.

Procedure and recovery

Hospitalization for surgical defloration is not required. The procedure takes place in the operating room or procedure gynecological room of the clinic. 

Operation algorithm:

• a woman sits down in a gynecological chair;

• local anesthesia is performed, if necessary - sedation, general anesthesia;

• the place for surgery is disinfected;

• the doctor cuts the hymen with a disposable scalpel;

• sutures are placed on the flap of the hymen so that the fragments of the hymen do not grow together and its integrity is not restored;

• hemostasis (stopping possible bleeding) is performed.

The medical defloration procedure takes less than an hour, after which the woman can continue her normal life. The suture material dissolves on its own after a few weeks.

The only thing is that after the operation the doctor will recommend:

• pay more attention to intimate hygiene;

• abstain from sexual life for up to 30 days;

• wear underwear made of natural fabrics;

• don't use tampons, give preference to pads with a slightly higher absorbency than usual.

We suggest that you consult a gynecologist for any problems with the female intimate sphere.
