Ultrasound diagnostics  is simple, informative, fast, absolutely safe and painless method of examination. Ultrasound diagnostics of abdominal organs is necessary if one or more than one of following symptoms are present:

  • pain in the abdomen, hypochondrium, back pain
  • dyspeptic disorders (nausea, heartburn, belching, bloating, diarrhea, constipation)
  • bitterness or taste in the mouth, bad breath
  • increase in body temperature
  • difficult urination
  • yellowness of the skin and mucous membranes
  • hepatomegaly (pathological enlargement of the liver)
  • splenomegaly (pathological enlargement of the spleen)
  • general intoxication of the body
  • sudden weight gain or loss
  • change in the color of stools
  • congenital malformations
  • concretions (stones) in the gallbladder and bile ducts
  • volumetric formations (tumors, parasitic cysts, abscesses, etc.)
  • degenerative changes (cirrhosis of the liver, pathological changes in the spleen in various diseases (leukemia, hemolytic anemia, portal hypertension, etc.))
  • traumatic injuries (hematomas, organ ruptures)
  • anemia
  • burdened heredity
  • poisoning
  • preventive examinations

Preparation for Ultrasound Diagnostics

Examination of the abdominal organs is fasting, so it is preferably provided in the morning. Gas-forming foods  - legumes, raw vegetables and fruits, black bread and pastries, milk, sweets and carbonated drinks are excluded from the diet for 1-2 days before the examination. Before the Ultrasound Diagnostics, it is recommended to take Espumisan - 2 capsules 3 times a day or other enterosorbents. Last meal no later than 6-8 hours before the examination. It is also not recommended to smoke or chew gum within 1-2 hours before the examination. If the patient has diabetes before ultrasound of the kidneys and liver, a light breakfast (warm tea, dried white bread) is permissible. If the patient regularly takes medications, it is not necessary to stop take them because of the ultrasound, but it is necessary to inform the doctor about it. It is not recommended to take antispasmodics before the examination.

There are no contraindications to ultrasound diagnostics of the abdominal organs. If necessary, it is can be done as frequent as treatment requires
